Our Mission.
WHARC exist to promote the health and social wellbeing of women and adolescents in Africa through systematic research, documentation and service delivery in sexual and reproductive health.
The specific mission of the Centre includes the following:
To conduct a multidisciplinary research into the social and medical determinants of fertility, infertility, sexually transmitted infections, abortion and safe motherhood in Nigerian women with particular focus on adolescents.
To use the results generated from the studies and other published papers to advocate for policies that will enhance the health and social status of women in Nigeria.
To train local health workers in conceiving and implementing simple field studies in women’s reproductive health and to update their skills and knowledge periodically.
